Painterly Romantic-Gothic rendering: deep chiaroscuro with molten, glowing light against near-black shadow, and soft smoky edges in the dark passages. Visible oil-paint brushwork, atmospheric perspective and mist that swallows distance. Palette is nocturnal and desaturated — deep indigo, cold slate, black-green, bone white and a single blood-red or amber accent. Materials read as damp stone, weathered iron, tarnished silver, velvet and moss. Composition is vertical, dramatic and slightly unbalanced, using ruins, arches and moonlight as framing devices and dwarfing the figure against nature.
