Impasto Oil Painting

Sculptural oil handling: paint applied in thick raised ridges and peaks that hold the mark of a palette knife and a loaded bristle brush, with real cast shadows from the relief. Strokes are directional, carved and visible, building form by stacking colour rather than smoothing it. Palette is rich and chromatic, using broken-colour strokes that mix optically — deep ultramarine and cobalt against chrome yellow, ochre, vermilion and bone white. Texture is the subject: every surface reads as paint first and material second. Composition is close and immersive, filling the frame edge to edge with stroke rhythm and letting the knife work carry the volume. No lettering, signature or inscription is painted into the image.
